Practice Development Manager - Private Equity/ M&A
We're working with a leading international law firm seeking to recruit a Practice Development Manager to join their Private Equity and M&A team in London, as part of their larger Practice Development team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified corporate lawyer with Private Equity and/or M&A experience to take on a strategic and operational role within a high-performing practice group. You'll work closely with partners and leadership to support the development, performance, and day-to-day management of the PEMA team across London and Paris.
You'll play a key role in driving talent management, staffing, training, and overall practice group effectiveness, ensuring alignment with the firm's broader strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Managing resource allocation, staffing processes, and productivity across the PEMA practice, ensuring balanced workloads and optimal utilisation
- Partnering with practice group leaders on hiring, onboarding, and workforce planning, including lateral recruitment and integration
- Overseeing associate and paralegal evaluation processes, ensuring consistent feedback and development planning
- Designing and coordinating training programmes, practice group meetings, and skills development initiatives
- Monitoring morale, mentoring associates, and supporting career development across the group
- Analysing and presenting data on performance, capacity, and staffing to inform strategic decision-making
- Supporting business development initiatives, including pitch preparation and client engagement activities
- Contributing to budget planning, innovation projects, and broader practice management and operational initiatives
This role would suit a commercially minded and highly organised individual with a strong background in corporate law and an interest in practice management. You'll bring excellent communication and leadership skills, along with the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
