Conflicts & New Business Team Leader
A top-tier international law firm in the City is hiring a Conflicts & New Business Team Leader to supervise and drive the day-to-day delivery of new business intake, conflicts clearance and AML/CDD across UK and European offices.
This is a hands-on operational management role. You'll lead a small team, set daily priorities, maintain service standards, and stay close to live matters and stepping in where urgency, judgement or stakeholder sensitivity is key.
What you'll be doing:
* Leading daily workflow across conflicts, AML and matter opening, including urgent/time-sensitive requests
* Coaching and supporting junior analysts; maintaining quality and consistency of output
* Acting as first escalation point for operational issues; escalating higher-risk matters appropriately
* Partnering closely with fee-earners and business services stakeholders, explaining policy decisions and managing expectations
* Supporting continuous improvement across intake processes and team ways of working
What they're looking for:
* Proven team leader/supervisor experience within conflicts, intake, AML or compliance (international law firm ideal)
* Strong operational knowledge across conflicts searches, CDD/AML risk assessment and matter opening
* Confidence dealing with senior stakeholders-able to challenge constructively when needed
* Working knowledge of tools such as Intapp and screening databases (e.g., WorldCheck / Orbis / Capital IQ) is highly desirable
* Calm prioritisation under pressure, strong attention to detail, and absolute discretion
Working pattern:
Hybrid (typically 3 days office / 2 days WFH) with one weekly anchor day for team collaboration. New joiners are expected to be predominantly office-based during onboarding.
