Public M&A Lawyer (4-5 PQE)



Montresor Legal presents to market a rare mid-level M&A associate role, focused on public transactions at an elite US law firm in London.
In this role, you'll be hands-on throughout the entire M&A process as a key point person with direct access to partners - helping shape deals, putting together key documents, and making sure everything runs smoothly through to closing.
The firm maintains an extensive global network with a track record of leading on headline cross-border deals. It has an exciting growth curve in London with significant investment into its continued growth.
The Role:
- Help clients navigate the UK Listing Rules and Takeover Code, offering clear, practical advice.
- Write and negotiate a range of key documents - from share purchase agreements and NDAs to joint venture deals and restructuring plans.
- Team up with colleagues from other departments to give clients well-rounded, joined-up support.
- Dive into legal and commercial due diligence - issue spotting, assessing risks, and breaking down findings in a straightforward way.
- Keep things moving by staying in close contact with clients, partners, and outside advisors throughout complex deals.
About You:
You will likely be looking for an opportunity to step into a leaner environment and be an important leading 'point-person', without sacrificing deal quality or technical support.
- Qualified solicitor with 4-5 years' PQE in corporate M&A.
- Proven experience across public and private M&A, including takeovers, joint ventures, and restructurings.
- Strong working knowledge of the Takeover Code and Listing Rules.
- Skilled in drafting, analysis, and negotiation, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams effectively.
- Commercially aware, proactive, and collaborative, with a problem-solving mindset.
- Committed to ongoing professional development and taking initiative.
- Interested in cross-border deals and adaptable to shifting deal dynamics.
- Actively engaged in mentoring, training, and fostering a supportive team culture.
