Conflicts Analyst

UK&I - London
Permanent
£51k to £100k

We are working with a leading international US law firm that is looking to appoint a Conflicts Clearance Analyst to its London office.

Following the recent appointment of a Senior Conflicts Attorney, the firm is expanding its conflicts function and is seeking an analyst to join its Office of General Counsel.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with existing conflicts experience who is looking to develop their career within a sophisticated international law firm, working closely with senior lawyers and compliance professionals on complex conflicts matters.

Working alongside the Senior Conflicts Attorney and wider Office of General Counsel, responsibilities will include:

  • Reviewing new matter intake requests and ensuring relevant client and matter information is accurate and complete.
  • Analysing conflicts of interest reports, identifying potential conflicts and conducting further research using internal and external databases.
  • Preparing clear, concise conflicts summaries for attorneys, identifying issues requiring review or resolution.
  • Supporting conflicts checks relating to lateral attorney hires and new business.
  • Liaising with lawyers and internal stakeholders to obtain further information and progress the resolution of conflicts issues.
  • Assisting with the drafting and review of conflicts waiver letters and relevant engagement letter provisions.
  • Coordinating the establishment of information screens where required.
  • Escalating complex or unresolved conflicts matters to the Senior Conflicts Attorney and other members of the Office of General Counsel.

We are particularly interested in speaking with candidates who have:

  • Previous experience in conflicts analysis, research and resolution within a law firm.
  • A good understanding of conflicts of interest and the processes involved in new matter intake and clearance.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to identify and communicate potentially complex conflicts issues.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with confidence liaising with lawyers and senior stakeholders.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities in a busy, deadline-driven environment.
  • A proactive, organised and collaborative approach to work.

Experience with iManage Conflicts Management/Elegrity, S&P Capital IQ or D&B Hoovers would be advantageous, although not essential.

Candidates should also be comfortable with the occasional flexibility required to assist with urgent matters outside standard working hours.

This is an opportunity to join a growing conflicts function within a highly regarded international law firm.

Working closely with a newly appointed Senior Conflicts Attorney, the successful candidate will gain exposure to complex, cross-border matters and have the opportunity to develop their expertise within a specialist legal risk and compliance environment.

If you have previous conflicts experience and are interested in taking the next step in your career, please get in touch for a confidential discussion.
