Corporate M&A Associate (2-4 PQE)
An elite global law firm is seeking a 2-4 PQE Associate to join its core London Corporate M&A practice.
The team advises FTSE 100 companies, multinational corporates, and major private equity sponsors on high-value, complex cross-border transactions, public takeovers, joint ventures, and strategic carve-outs across multiple sectors.
The Role
Running day-to-day workstreams on domestic and cross-border M&A transactions.
Drafting and negotiating core transaction documents (SPAs, VPAs, shareholder agreements, and disclosure letters).
Leading due diligence teams and managing specialist inputs (tax, regulatory, employment).
Dealing directly with clients, target management teams, and counterparty counsel.
Requirements
2-4 years PQE within a well-regarded UK, US, or international corporate practice.
Broad exposure to private M&A (public M&A or PE experience is a plus).
Strong transactional discipline, sound commercial judgment, and confidence running deal mechanics.
Excellent academic record.

The ideal candidate will have:
- 1-5 PQE experience in structured finance, securitisation, ABS, banking & finance or a closely related area.
- Ideally UK-trained and qualified, although applications from foreign-qualified lawyers with strong relevant experience are welcomed.
- Strong technical, drafting and transactional skills.
- Experience working on sophisticated, multi-party transactions.
- Commerciality, attention to detail and the ability to thrive in a busy team environment.
The role would suit someone who wants high-quality deal exposure without being pigeonholed into a narrow specialism, with the opportunity to develop expertise across a broad range of structured finance and ABS work.
