Funds / Asset Management | Investment Bank | London - contract position (6 months)
We are working with a leading investment bank on a new contract opportunity within its legal team.
The team is looking for someone with hands-on experience across fund formation, structuring and registrations, ideally combined with some knowledge of derivatives.
This is a particularly interesting role for someone who enjoys the more technical and bespoke end of the funds space. The work will include exposure to structures such as UCITS, Jersey unit trusts and Cayman unit trusts, including vehicles used to manage QIS exposure through derivatives and other underlying assets.
We're keen to speak with candidates who have experience in areas such as:
* Fund set-up, registrations and ongoing fund documentation
* Understanding of fund structures and underlying management documentation
* Derivatives / structured products exposure
* QIS and more bespoke investment structures
* Broader regulatory knowledge within asset management
The team is open-minded on background. This could suit a funds lawyer, experienced paralegal, or someone coming from a Big Four / professional services environment who has strong practical experience of establishing and registering funds.
This will initially be a contract position, with the potential to become permanent.

We are working with a leading global investment bank looking to appoint an experienced Payments / Financial Services Regulatory Lawyer for a 12-month contract within its legal team.
This is a commercially focused role supporting a global Payments and Transaction Banking business, with particular emphasis on UK and European products, regulation and new product initiatives.
The role will include:
* Providing legal and regulatory advice across a range of payments and cash management products and services
* Advising on UK and EU payments and financial services regulation
* Supporting new product development, business initiatives and client solutions
* Working closely with Product, Compliance, Risk and other control functions on legal and regulatory matters
* Identifying and advising on product and regulatory risk
* Providing commercially practical advice on the application of law, regulation and internal policy
* Working with legal colleagues and business stakeholders across multiple jurisdictions
We're looking for:
- Approximately 3-8 years' PQE / relevant experience
- Experience within banking or financial services, gained in-house, within private practice and/or a regulatory environment
- Strong knowledge of payments, cash management or transaction banking
- Good knowledge of UK and European financial services regulation, particularly payments regulation such as PSD/PSD2
- Confidence working with senior stakeholders across international and cross-functional teams
- A commercial approach and the ability to provide clear, pragmatic legal advice in a fast-paced environment

We're currently looking for an experienced lawyer to join a leading global financial institution, supporting its Trade, Supply Chain Finance and Working Capital lending businesses.
Location: London or Belfast
Experience: 6+ PQE (or equivalent)
Contract opportunity
This is a broad, commercially focused role working closely with international business teams on the structuring, documentation and execution of sophisticated trade and financing transactions.
The role will include:
* Advising on secured and unsecured bilateral and syndicated trade loan facilities
* Supply chain and distribution finance
* Accounts receivable and import/export finance
* Draft discounting and commodities finance
* Securitisations and other trade-related financing products
* Drafting, reviewing and negotiating transaction documentation
* Advising international business units on relevant matters of English law
* Working closely with Risk, Compliance, Regulatory, Finance and Tax teams
* Supporting regional and global initiatives, including digitisation projects
* Coordinating with international in-house legal teams and managing external counsel
What we're looking for:
Ideally, you'll have at least 6 PQE or equivalent experience, gained within private practice and/or an in-house legal team, with exposure to a broad range of trade finance transactions.
Candidates do not need experience across every product listed above. Strong experience advising on secured and unsecured lending transactions, together with a good understanding of security and perfection requirements, would also be highly relevant.
This would suit a finance lawyer looking for a varied role with significant exposure to cross-border trade finance, structured lending and global stakeholders.
