Business Development & Legal Directories Executive

UK&I - London
Permanent
Up to £50k

We are working with a highly regarded London law firm that is looking to appoint an experienced Business Development & Legal Directories Executive.

The immediate priority for this role is to take ownership of the firm's legal directory submissions, so previous hands-on experience managing Chambers, Legal 500 and similar submissions is essential.

This would suit someone who has spent at least two years working directly on legal directories within a law firm or professional services environment and who understands the full submissions process from planning and information gathering through to drafting, coordinating referee feedback, managing deadlines and working with Partners and fee earners.

Alongside directories, the successful candidate will also support the wider business development and marketing function, including campaigns, events, client development activity, CRM, pitches and broader practice support.

The role is highly visible and will involve working closely with Partners and senior stakeholders across the firm, so confidence, organisation and the ability to manage multiple deadlines will be important.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and coordinating Chambers, Legal 500 and other legal directory submissions
  • Managing submission timetables, deadlines and internal processes
  • Working closely with Partners and fee earners to gather matter information and supporting detail
  • Drafting and editing submissions to ensure they are clear, persuasive and consistent
  • Managing referee lists and related follow-up
  • Maintaining records of rankings, submissions and outcomes
  • Supporting wider BD initiatives across practice groups
  • Assisting with events, campaigns, pitches and client development activity
  • Supporting CRM and data quality where required
  • Helping identify opportunities to strengthen the firm's market profile

The ideal candidate will have:

  • At least two years' direct legal directories experience
  • Strong knowledge of Chambers and Legal 500 submissions
  • Previous experience within a law firm or professional services environment
  • Excellent drafting and editing skills
  • Confidence working directly with Partners and senior stakeholders
  • Strong project management and organisational skills
  • The ability to manage competing deadlines across multiple practice areas
  • A broader interest in business development and marketing

This is a strong opportunity for someone who enjoys taking real ownership of legal directories but also wants broader exposure across BD, events, client development and marketing within a highly regarded London firm.
