2020-2022 qualified Sponsor side Leveraged Finance and Private Credit associate
UK&I - London
Contract
£150k - £250k
Looking to take the lead on cutting-edge private credit and sponsor-backed debt mandates? A top-tier US firm in London is hiring a 4-6 PQE finance associate to join its expanding leveraged finance group.
The European debt landscape has shifted heavily toward direct lending and hybrid capital solutions. This team sits right at the intersection of sponsor-side leverage and private credit, giving you a broad, highly marketable practice covering everything from senior direct lending to complex unitranche and holdco structures.
The Role
- Lead the drafting and negotiation of primary debt documentation, including senior/unitranche credit agreements, intercreditor agreements, and equity kickers.
- Advise financial sponsors, private credit funds, and alternative lenders on European LBO financings, refinancings, and dividend recapitalisations.
- Manage multi-jurisdictional debt execution, working directly with deal sponsors, credit committees, and corporate borrowers.
- Mentor junior associates on technical documentation while running transactions independently alongside partners.
What the Team Offers
- Broad Market Coverage: Work across both borrower/sponsor mandates and top-tier direct lender/private credit funds rather than being pigeonholed on one side of the table.
- Unlayered Execution: Lean partner-to-associate ratios mean you will act as the lead associate on major transactions, gaining the senior exposure needed for partnership consideration.
- Genuine Mentorship & Progression: Partners who are invested in building a sustainable practice and giving senior associates real commercial runway.
- Top-of-Market Pay: Full US Cravath-scale salary and performance bonus package.
What They're Looking For
- Qualified solicitor (England & Wales or equivalent) with 4 to 6 years of post-qualification experience (2020-2022 qual).
- Core background in leveraged finance with strong exposure to sponsor-side work, direct lending, or private credit from a top-tier UK or US firm in London.
- Advanced technical understanding of intercreditor mechanics, covenant packages, and term sheet structuring, alongside strong negotiation skills.

Play an active role in business development and building relationships with PE deal teams, founders, and co-investors.

Private Equity M&A Associate 1-2 PQE
UK&I - London
Permanent
£150k - £250k
Looking to step up your private equity practice? A high-performing London M&A group at a top-tier US firm is looking for a 1-2 PQE associate to join the team.
This isn't a factory model. The corporate practice is intentionally tight-knit and actively expanding, meaning you won't spend your time managing document reviews or sitting behind five layers of senior lawyers. You'll be on the front lines of high-value European LBOs and cross-border transactions, working directly with partners who actually take the time to train you.
The Role
- Take primary responsibility for drafting and running core transaction documents, including SPAs, SHAs, disclosure letters, and management equity packages.
- Lead day-to-day deal management across complex sponsor-backed buyouts, bolt-on acquisitions, co-investments, and carve-outs.
- Deal directly with financial sponsors, portfolio company management teams, and opposing counsel.
What the Team Offers
- Genuine Mentorship: Direct, daily partner contact. You'll get real feedback, deal coaching, and structured guidance to sharpen your commercial edge.
- Hands-On Exposure: Small deal teams mean high visibility. You'll run workstreams, take lead roles in negotiations, and get the practical experience needed to progress quickly.
- Top-Tier Work: Complex, market-defining PE transactions without the internal bureaucracy of larger, overly layered departments.
- Top-of-Market Pay: Full US Cravath-scale compensation with elite bonuses.
What They're Looking For
- Qualified solicitor (England & Wales or equivalent common law jurisdiction) with 1 to 2 years of post-qualification experience (2024 or 2025 qual).
- Solid background in private equity M&A or main corporate/M&A from a recognised Magic Circle, Silver Circle, or US firm in London.
- Strong technical drafting, good commercial instincts, and the confidence to own deal streams.
