We are working with a leading international US law firm that is looking to appoint a Conflicts Lawyer to its London office.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly regarded global conflicts and new business function in a visible, advisory and commercially focused position.
The successful candidate will work closely with partners, lawyers and senior stakeholders across the firm's international offices, providing practical advice on conflicts of interest and new business intake matters.
The firm is open to candidates at different levels of seniority but requires a minimum of one year's post-qualification experience. The preference is likely to be for a junior to mid-level lawyer who already has the confidence and judgement to operate independently with senior stakeholders.

Based in London, the Conflicts Lawyer will form part of the firm's global conflicts and new business function, working closely with colleagues in the UK, Europe, the US and other international offices.
This is an advisory and stakeholder-facing role rather than a purely administrative position. The conflicts team is viewed as a business-enabling partner to the firm, balancing robust risk management with commercial pragmatism.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Reviewing and analysing conflicts reports to identify potential conflicts of interest and wider business issues
- Reviewing escalated conflicts searches and providing clear, practical clearance advice
- Conducting detailed corporate and regulatory research relating to prospective clients and matter parties
- Preparing conflicts summaries for partners, outlining identified issues and recommended resolutions
- Advising on conflict waivers, ethical screens and internal clearances
- Reviewing and approving new client and matter forms
- Advising partners, associates and support teams on new business intake policies and procedures
- Drafting engagement letters, conflict waivers and ethical screens
- Supporting the conflicts aspects of lateral partner and associate onboarding
- Contributing to knowledge sharing, training and process improvement
- Keeping up to date with relevant professional conduct rules and conflicts regulations across applicable jurisdictions
Applicants must:
- Be admitted to a recognised law society or bar in a jurisdiction in which the firm has an office
- Have at least one year's post-qualification experience
- Possess strong legal analytical skills and sound judgement
- Be confident communicating with partners and senior stakeholders
- Demonstrate strong commercial awareness and the ability to balance risk with business needs
- Be comfortable working within a fast-paced, high-performing international law firm
- Have excellent written and spoken English
- Be highly organised and able to manage competing priorities
- Be discreet and comfortable handling confidential and commercially sensitive information
- Take a collaborative, practical and business-enabling approach
Previous experience in conflicts, new business intake, risk or compliance within a US or large international law firm would be helpful but is not required.
Experience using systems and research platforms such as Intapp Open, Capital IQ, Orbis, Bureau van Dijk or World-Check would also be useful.
The team currently operates a hybrid working model of three days per week in the office and two days from home.

The paralegal will take responsibility for reviewing and negotiating a high volume of NDAs on behalf of the Global Markets businesses.

Responsibilities are expected to include:

- Managing NDA requests from initial instruction through to completion
- Liaising with internal business teams, legal colleagues and external counterparties
- Identifying non-standard or higher-risk provisions and escalating these appropriately

- Supporting the wider Global Markets legal team when required
- Helping to ensure matters are handled efficiently and in line with internal policies and procedures
Applicants should have previous paralegal experience involving the review or negotiation of NDAs, confidentiality agreements or other commercial contracts.
Experience gained within a bank, financial institution, law firm, investment business or other fast-paced commercial environment would be particularly useful.
The successful candidate is likely to demonstrate:
- Previous experience reviewing and negotiating NDAs
- Strong drafting and document-review skills
- The confidence to manage a busy and varied workload
- Excellent attention to detail
- The ability to identify issues and understand when matters require escalation
- Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills
- A practical and commercially focused approach
- The ability to work independently while remaining part of a wider legal team
- Availability to begin an interim assignment at short notice
Previous Global Markets or financial services experience would be advantageous, although candidates with strong NDA and commercial-contracts experience from other sectors are also encouraged to apply.
This role offers the chance to join the London legal team of a major international financial institution and work closely with a broad range of Global Markets stakeholders.
The assignment will initially run for six months, with the successful candidate expected to begin as soon as possible.
DSAR Review
I am keen to hear from paralegals and lawyers with experience in data protection and Data Subject Access Request reviews for an upcoming project.

I would be interested in speaking with candidates at all levels, including:
- Paralegals with DSAR, data protection or related document review experience
- Junior lawyers able to undertake quality assurance and second-level review
- More experienced lawyers with strong data protection knowledge who could support complex issues and escalations
Previous experience of DSAR reviews or data protection work is important. Experience of large-scale document review, privilege, confidentiality, third-party personal data or redaction exercises would also be helpful.
