An elite law firm is looking to bolster its financial markets practice in Sydney with the hire of a mid-senior level lawyer.
The role will focus on a variety of complex derivatives, securities financing (repo and stock lending), and structured trading documentation, acting for premium domestic and international financial institutions, funds, and key industry bodies (including ISDA, ICMA, and AFMA) across complex transactions, collateral netting, and financial services regulation.
The partner is keen to consider Australian returners, as well as UK and Irish lawyers looking to relocate to Sydney. The practice has a proven track record of successfully hiring from the UK market and offers full sponsorship and relocation assistance.

The successful candidate will be England & Wales qualified with 2-4 years' PQE gained in a leading leveraged finance practice at a Magic Circle, Silver Circle or elite US law firm.

The Role

Candidate Requirements
- England & Wales qualified (or common law qualified with relevant experience)

- Strong structured finance, securitisation, banking OR derivatives experience from a leading law firm or in-house experience

- Strong drafting and transactional skills
- Commercially minded with a collaborative approach
