Derivatives Lawyer AVP/VP

A leading global investment bank is seeking a mid-level lawyer to join its growing Sales & Trading legal team.

This is a newly created role as part of a broader business expansion, offering the opportunity to work closely with sales and trading desks on a wide range of advisory matters.

Key Responsibilities:
* Provide real-time legal advisory support to Sales & Trading across fixed income and FX
* Advise on live trading issues including pre-hedging, disclosures, and regulatory considerations
* Support the development and implementation of legal frameworks enabling compliant trading activity
* Partner directly with front office stakeholders on day-to-day business initiatives
* Contribute to governance matters and the regulatory framework of trading venues
* Assist with regulatory analysis across evolving markets, including rates, FX, and emerging markets
* Support commodities-related legal work, including gas, power (physical trading), and metals
* Instruct and manage external counsel where required
* Ensure appropriate legal opinions and documentation are in place
