I'm currently working on a VP-level opportunity within a leading global financial institution's Master Documentation team. This is an excellent role for an experienced negotiator or legal professional looking to operate at the forefront of derivatives documentation and capital optimisation.
The Opportunity
Join a Global Contract Services function as a Senior Negotiator, where you will take ownership of negotiating Master Trading Netting Agreements, with a strong focus on the ISDA derivatives documentation framework.
This role plays a critical part in supporting efficient capital usage while managing relationships with a broad client base across EMEA and globally.
Key Responsibilities
Lead negotiations of ISDA and related master agreements with institutional counterparties
Independently manage a portfolio of documentation from initiation through execution
Collaborate with internal stakeholders including Legal, Front Office, Credit, and Operations
Drive efficiencies in negotiation processes, including cycle time improvements and MI/data capture
Provide guidance, training, and review support to junior team members and peers
Balance BAU negotiation work alongside project-based initiatives
What We're Looking For
Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience)
Strong financial services background-either in a legal role or as a documentation negotiator
In-depth knowledge of ISDA documentation; familiarity with other master agreements is beneficial
Proven ability to manage workloads independently and engage effectively with stakeholders
Strong organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities under tight deadlines
Understanding of documentation lifecycle, turnaround metrics, and reporting requirements
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Highly Desirable
Additional European language skills (French, Italian, or Spanish)
Qualified lawyer in a recognised jurisdiction
