I'm currently partnering with an international investment bank to appoint a Senior Commercial Lawyer to join their International Technology & Operations Legal team. This is an excellent opportunity for a senior lawyer to step into a high-impact role advising on complex commercial, technology, and outsourcing matters across EMEA.
The Role
This position will act as the lead EMEA commercial lawyer for one of the bank's services businesses, supporting procurement and sourcing teams on high-value supplier and outsourcing arrangements. The role sits within a global legal team and will involve advising on complex technology and regulatory matters across multiple jurisdictions.
Key Responsibilities
Lead legal support for complex commercial contracts, including outsourcing, hosted services, software, and AI-related agreements
Advise sourcing and procurement teams on third-party supplier and outsourcing arrangements
Provide guidance on technology law, data protection, and regulatory requirements, including Operational Resilience frameworks
Act as a senior legal advisor on strategic and time-sensitive projects across multiple business lines
Collaborate with global legal colleagues on multi-jurisdictional deals
Assess legal and regulatory risks while ensuring compliance with applicable laws, rules, and internal policies
Provide subject matter expertise on AI use cases and related legal considerations
What We're Looking For
Qualified lawyer admitted to practice in the UK or Ireland
Law degree (LLB) or equivalent law conversion qualification
Strong experience drafting and negotiating commercial contracts, particularly outsourcing, software, hosted services, and technology agreements
Solid working knowledge of UK and EU data protection law
Experience advising on technology or outsourcing contracts within a financial services environment, law firm, or in-house legal team (beneficial but not essential)
Strong stakeholder management, negotiation, and analytical skills
