Legal Counsel - Global Asset Manager

We are partnering with a leading global asset manager seeking a Derivatives Lawyer to join the Legal team in London.

This role sits within a collaborative EMEA legal team supporting global trading and markets activity across asset management products and institutional client solutions. The position offers exposure to complex derivatives transactions, regulatory developments, and cross-border legal work.

Responsibilities

  • Provide legal support for OTC derivatives, cleared swaps, futures, repo, cleared repo, and FX prime brokerage transactions
  • Advise on trading documentation and related legal negotiations
  • Support implementation of global regulatory developments impacting derivatives trading
  • Partner with investment, trading, and risk teams, as well as external industry groups
  • Contribute to legal coverage for mutual funds, private funds, alternative investment funds, and institutional mandates

Requirements

  • Qualified US or UK lawyer with 3-6 years' PQE
  • Experience at a law firm, asset manager, fund platform, or investment bank
  • Strong knowledge of derivatives and trading documentation
  • Understanding of asset management structures and clients; pension scheme experience beneficial
  • Strong communication, organisational, and stakeholder management skills
  • High level of initiative, integrity, and commercial judgement

We are working with a large, leading buy-side institution seeking an Employment Lawyer to join its Legal team in London.

This is an opportunity to join a well-established in-house legal function supporting a global investment platform. The role involves advising on employment matters within a regulated financial services environment and partnering with stakeholders across the business.

Responsibilities

* Provide expert legal advice on a wide range of UK employment matters, including contracts, terminations, discrimination, harassment, and employee benefits
* Review and negotiate employment contracts, non-compete agreements, settlement agreements, and other employment-related documents in compliance with UK and international law
* Develop and implement employment policies, procedures, and compliance programmes to mitigate legal risks specific to the UK
* Work closely with HR and management to resolve employee relations issues, providing advice on disciplinary actions, grievances, and dispute resolution
* Support employment aspects of organisational change initiatives within a regulated buy-side environment
* Collaborate with external counsel on employment-related litigation, including discrimination claims and wrongful termination suits
* Provide training and updates to HR and management on UK employment law and best practices
* Advise on regulatory compliance with UK authorities including the FCA and PRA

Requirements

* UK-qualified lawyer with 5-8 years' post-qualification experience, though candidates up to 10 PQE will be considered
* Strong UK employment law experience, ideally within financial services, hedge fund, or buy-side/sell-side environments
* Experience with employment litigation, dispute resolution, and regulatory compliance in the UK
* Excellent drafting, negotiation, analytical, and stakeholder management skills
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
* High ethical standards and commitment to confidentiality and integrity
