Junior Legal Counsel / ISDA negotiator

UK&I - London
Permanent
£100k - £150k

I'm hiring for an exciting opportunity within a global Legal department and would love to connect with professionals who have experience in ISDA negotiation or are junior derivatives lawyers looking to specialise further in master documentation.

We are looking for a motivated and commercially minded ISDA Negotiator / Junior Lawyer to join the Masters Documentation Team and partner closely with Front Office, leading negotiations on ISDA Master Agreements, CSAs, guarantees, long-form confirmations, and related ancillary documentation.

A key focus of the position is working with fund counterparties - particularly private equity and private debt funds, limited partnerships, and complex fund structures - across multiple jurisdictions. You'll play a critical role in assessing fund entity capacity and signing authority, as well as negotiating fund-specific termination triggers and ISDA provisions.

What makes this role unique is the level of direct exposure to the business. You'll work side-by-side with Front Office teams and internal stakeholders, translating legal and regulatory risk into clear, practical guidance. We're looking for someone who is confident engaging with commercial teams, enjoys building relationships, and can communicate complex risk considerations in a business-aligned way.

This is a fast-paced environment where you'll manage multiple negotiations simultaneously, work to tight deadlines, and have the opportunity to influence and enhance internal processes.

Key experience we're looking for includes:

  • Strong expertise in negotiating ISDA Master Agreements, CSAs, guarantees, and long-form confirmations

  • Experience negotiating derivatives documentation with fund entities (private debt/equity funds, limited partnerships, partnerships, and other fund structures)

  • A solid understanding of capacity, authority, netting, and jurisdictional documentation requirements

  • Close collaboration with Front Office and business teams

  • The ability to manage and prioritise competing negotiations while ensuring alignment with internal policy and regulatory obligations

  • A proactive mindset with an interest in improving documentation workflows and negotiation processes

If you or someone in your network could be a great fit, I'd love to share more details. Feel free to message me directly or pass this along to anyone who may be interested.
