Parents Evening.

I just had to write something about parents evening. Those two words can make you feel like you’re 10 years old again, waiting to find out how you’ve done.

It’s funny, you go in thinking you’re there to hear about your child, and you leave reflecting on yourself.

There’s a quiet pride that comes from knowing your child is trying, even if things aren’t perfect. Even if there’s more to do. Because effort matters more than perfection.

And it struck me how true that is in every part of life!! In work, in parenting, in everything. Progress isn’t always neat or easy, but showing up and keeping at it counts for a lot.

So here’s to effort. To trying, learning, and getting a little better each time, whether you’re six or thirty-something!
